How to Contact Me
General
The best way to contact me depends on who you are and what you wish. Unless otherwise indicated, e-mail to the address above (avital.pilpel@avitalpilpel.com) is the default method I prefer.
If you are a colleague / employer
You surely wish to check out the professional part of this web page first, and/or check out my LinkedIn web page, before e-mailing me.
If you are a student
If you are a student of mine who wishes to urgently contact me regarding your grades, work, etc., call my phone number. I can be found in the telephone directory of my home town.
If you wish to contact me professionally -- concerning letters of recommendations, articles, etc. -- you might want to check out my LinkedIn web page first.
If you have access to my "academic" e-mails (@ the IDC, University of Haifa, Beit Berl, or elsewhere), you can use it -- the mail will automatically be forwarded to the e-mail address above.
If you are a friend or relative
If you are a long-lost friend or relative, you might try to contact me first on Facebook, or follow me on Twitter.
NOTE: I use LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook much like I use Google Reader -- to keep up with academic departments, professional associations, journals, etc. -- usu. once every few days.
However, I set up my accounts' preference so that if you sent me a note on one of those networks (or "follow" / "befriend" / "link with" me), I will get an email about it, even if I haven't visited the networks' site.
If you are a chess player / historian
I welcome comments / questions / information / criticism about my hobby, chess in Mandatory Palestine or Israel. If you would like to send me any printed material (score sheets, etc.) please send it to my mailing address. (Again, it is found in the telephone directory of my home town.)
Please only send photocopies -- I cannot be held responsible for anything lost or damaged in the mail. Better yet, scan / digitally photograph.
